Abstract: Petroleum properties effect both the quality and quantity of pipeline fluids. It is obvious that petroleum properties have a major impact on quality of the fluid moved in pipelines. These properties are measured to determine if the fluid is on specification and often affects the price of the fluid. Petroleum properties can also have a great effect on quantity measurement. Petroleum properties affect all types of measurement and measurement devices. This paper will discuss various petroleum properties and some of the affects on pipeline measurement.
