Abstract: The Gas Research Institute (GRI) is supporting the development of a field-portable gas chromatograph with a photoioni/ation detector (GC/PID) to provide objective measurements of odorants injected into the gas distribution system. Satisfactory analytical conditions have been developed and preliminary field tests are in progress. Operational and economical requirements are presented. Projected cost for the instrument is less than SIOK.
