Abstract: The Equipment Standardization Sub-Committee of the A.G.A./EEI Fleet Management Committee was established in 1991 to address an important need in our companies. The need to reduce costs and improve productivity within each corporation is considered to be an essential element in the future financial health and operational efficiency for the Fleet departments of most utilities. Properly managed, standardization of fleet equipment is one route to lower fleet costs. In addition, the utility industry is beginning to identify the financial benefits of equipment standardization among companies.
