Abstract: A review of the objectives and progress of the GRI-sponsored program to improve the accuracy and range of supercompressibility factors is presented. The initial work on this project has involved an evaluation of the present method (AGANX-19) used by the domestic U.S. gas industry for supercompressibility factors. An evaluation of available compressibility factor data for methane and other key components of natural gas has been made to determine needs for new data. Development of a new correlation for the supercompressibility factor is planned.
