Title: Problems Affecting Orifice Measurement
Author: Kenneth A. Hoch
Source: 1976 Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course
Year Published: 1976
Abstract: Accurate measurement of natural gas with orifice meters requires the meterperson and chart censor to recognize the problems and solutions needed to insure the accurate recording of the variables in the orifice meter equation. Dirt, liquids and vibration cause a variety of operating problems which can be found from chart records and by inspection of the orifice meter gauge, orifice plate and meter tube.
