Abstract: This paper will cover the fundamentals of an orifice recorder. The American Gas Association defines the orifice meter as the complete measuring unit consisting of a primary and secondary elements. The meter tube and orifice plate with connection fittings are considered the primary measuring device. The meter or recorder is the secondary device. The meter tube along with the orifice plate is considered the metering device...the recorder or meter, records the events that are created in the meter tube.
