Abstract: The need for training Utilization Engineers and Technicians became apparent in the early 1980s. It was realized that gas supply had improved immeasurably. The trained engineers and technicians of the 50s and 60s had been retired and were not replaced during the supply shortage era of the 1970s. A task group from the Operating Section was formed with a group of people from Customer Service and Utilization Committee. They put together Technical Note CSU-83-il-l, Gas Utilization Requirements in the Gas Distribution Companies. This technical note was a basis for developing questionnaires and programs for future training.
