Abstract: Since the beginning of World War II, there has been an ongoin evolution in connectortechnology for %a ndling RF energy. Early in the 1940s. it appears that advances in RF cable technology had more significant influences in RF connector design than considerations for bandwidth. Rigid coax transmission lines were commonplace. In 1943 polyethylene, a superior dielectric developed in the U.K., was introduced, spawning a new flexible RF cable industry.
