Abstract: Computers have long been used to control proving functions in metering stations. Accurate reporting and control of meter proving is essential in custody transfer applications as well as non-custody transfer applications. In the former the results of the meter proving directl effect the totals from which invoices are generated. In the latter the results directly effect the ability to balance product inventories. These factors coupled with a need to minimize labor costs in all facilities make automated proving control a desirable feature in most meteing applications.
