Abstract: Federal, state, and local governments have passed numerous environmental taws and regulations many of which is complex and overlapping. While it is easy to assume that much of these regulations apply to other industries and thai natural gas distribution companies have nothing to worry about, the fact is that natural gas equipment and operations must comply with these environmental regulations and in many cases may have to have permits to construct or oprerate. The agencies charged with enforcing environmental regulations have had over 15 years to address their first priorities and it is logical to assume that this may begin to scrutinize natural gas operations.
