Abstract: Allocation measurement has been used in the oil and gas industry for many years, but consensus allocation measurement standards have only recently been developed. Contracts between the affected parties detailed exactly how the allocation would be made, how often calibrations would be required, the measurement systems to be employed and so forth. The private contract provisions gave all parties assurance that allocation would be feir and equitable.
