Abstract: In order to maintain correct operation of electronic instrumentation, periodic maintenance must be performed and documented. The frequency of periodic maintenance is done according to the type and usage of the instruments. This is standard in the industry where exact measurements are mandatory. This concept of maintaining correct instrumentation is also being applied to biomedical instrumentation and systems. Calibration plays a major role in correct instrumentation.
