Abstract: This subject is as old as the gas business, and since the construction and operation of a bell type meter prover is so well known to most of us, I sometimes wonder if, as a result of this condition, we do not at times become a little careless in its operation. Even though simple, the meter prover is, under proper operation, one of the most reliable and accurage test instruments we have.
