Abstract: A laser attenuator with large surface area is measured. The laser attenuator module used on an electro-optic test system has a nominal 140 mm diameter surface, which is mounted in a nominal 400 mm tube. By using a 5-demensional translation stage, the attenuation distribution of the attenuator module was determined along every 45 degree axis. Two measurement methods, singledetector and dual-detectors, were used. The uncertainty for the first method is almost 50% higher than the uncertainty from the second method.
