Abstract: All essential instruments which are used in the production or in the quality control field of a manufacturer must necessarily conform with the quality requirements of the final product. As most of the manufactured products comprise a number of supply parts on the one hand and as they must cope more or less internationally with other devices and systems on the other hand it is advisory that all control instruments meet the international standards and fulfil the internationally harmonised traceability conditions. How this can be achieved, is shown for weighing machines ( balances and scales ) which are either integrated in production lines or utilised for quality control purposes.
