Abstract: F reezing is a common problem in the natural gas pipeline industry , caused by the combined effects of ambient temperature, pressure drop, and the presence of water and hydrates in the gas stream. The ef fects of freezing can include inaccurate measurement , loss of system control, equipment damage , and complete interrup tion of the gas supply. Fortunately, many methods are available to help minimize th is problem.
