Abstract: Relative Density Specific Gravity) of a gas is defined as the ratio of the weight of a given volume of gas at standard conditions to the weight of an equal volume of pure air at standard conditions. This ratio measurement is a basic means of characterizing any gas. The instruments used for determining relative dehsity are called gravitometers.
