Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to provide, in general terms, an overview of the different technologies available to measure volumes in atmospheric storage tanks. There are typically four (4) volumes that are of interest to be calculated for atmospheric storage tanks: Total Observed, Gross Observed, Gross Standard, and Net Standard (see Fig 20 page 9). The basic measurements required for these volumes are: product level, observed temperature, water level, and the observed density of the product.
