Abstract: Its important that you realize that a bolt is not just a bolt. The proper selection of grade, diameter, length and thread pitch are extremely important because improper fastener application or installation could result in a bad accident or a loss of life. This is why it is vitally important that when a mechanic removes a bolt of a specific strength designated by the Original Equipment Manufacturer from a piece of equipment, that mechanic MUST replace that bolt with the SAME grade of bolt or BETTER.
