Abstract: An inspection of the fiscal metering station on a large Middle Eastern gas field revealed that the orifice plates in all three 16-inch metering runs had been incorrectly inserted in their carriers and O-rings sealing the plates had been damaged. As a consequence, all of the orifice plates were eccentric within their carriers. This paper describes the subsequent investigation into this problem and the estimation of the resultant flow-measurement error.
