Title: Platinum As A Practical Sensor For Temperature
Author: Donald J. Curtis
Source: 1974 Measurement Science Conference
Year Published: 1974
Abstract: Platinum resistance thermometers (PRT) have been used for over 100 years. Since 1927, platinum resistance temperature standards have been used to define temperature on the International Practical Temperature Scale. In the late 1950s, the number of manufacturers and designs of PRTs proliferated as applications for precision measurements became apparent in the aerospace industry.
