Abstract: The term Chromatography (Color Writing) is attributed to Tswett who first used the technique in 1906 for the separation of components of plant pigments. Keulemuns gave the following definition for the Chromatographic technique Chromatography is a physical method of separation, in which the components to be separated are distributed between two phases, one of the phases constituting as stationary bed of large surface area, the other being a fluid that percolates through or along the stationaiy bed.
