Abstract: As early as 1987 Citizens Gas had entertained the idea of combining several job classifications into one. It was believed that this person could perform many different tasks and be better equipped to serve the needs of our customers. The biggest pitfall to this plan was getting an agreement to combine the seniorities of three classifications into one. These were bargaining unit jobs, which require union and management agreement to change the method of assigning seniority.
