Abstract: In the past tew years there has been a proliferation of proposed and promulgated LNG regulations in response to increasing public and govemnncntal safety concerns. A major emphasis has been on the choice of siting criteria for LNG facilities. This paper presents an overview of some of the major issues and describes in general terms the range of requirements included in major regulatory documents. This is not intended as a comprehensive comparison of all siting regulations, but rather to provide some insights on the current issues related to siting of LNG facilities. The comments and opinions presented in this paper are solely those of the author.
