Abstract: Gas turbine meters were introduced in the United States in the 1960s, a time of rapid expansion in the natural gas industry. Since then the popularity has been based on well established characteristics precise accuracy and repeatability and wide rangeability. These same characteristics have made turbine meters the preferred choice as a reference standard at recognized calibration facilities in the U.S. and Europe.
