Title: Methods Of Determining The Specific Gravity Of Gas

Abstract: One of the greatest problems encountered in determining the specific gravity of a gas is a functional definition of the term. For the purpose of this paper, the specific gravity of a gas is defined as a unitless number which denotes the ratio of the weight of a gas to the weight of an equal volume of carbon dioxide free, dried air, with both measured at the same temperature and pressure. The terms density and specific weight can be interchanged with weight in the definition.
