Abstract: Operational obstacles have been present from the time the Gulf was first probed for hydrocarbon reserves. Problems such as accelerated equipment corrosion and restricted platform access are examples of such obstacles. In the best of conditions, natural gas measurement is not a simple task. When combined with the obstacles offered by the Gulf of Mexico, this task increases in difficulty.
