Abstract: Odorant transfers are necessary to move odorant into storage tanks to await injection into gas lines. Odorant s are used as a s afety device to warn the public of a possible gas release. This procedure must be done with due diligence . T he public has been conditioned to go into a sense of heightened awareness when the smell of odorized natural gas is present. So naturally, the smell of pure odorant would trigger the same response.
