Abstract: The sensitivity of turbine flow meters to a set of disturbed velocity profiles can be used to give an indication of the errors that may occur in practical circumstances as a result of installation conditions. The International Standard ISO 9951 defines a set of perturbations that are suitable for this purpose. The Standard requires the manufacturer to specify the installation conditions, such. as straight lengths, straighteners, etc. so that the change in error due to the standard perturbations is less than one third of the maximum error allowed for undisturbed flow.
