Title: The Determination Of Hydrogen Sulfide And Total Sulfur In Natural Gas

Abstract: Producers, processors, pipelines and distribution companies measure both hydrogen sulfide and total sulfur for compliance with purchase contracts, which generally contain sulfur quality clauses relating to those two parameters. A quarter grain of H2S per one hundred standard cubic feet (0.25 gr H2S/100 SCF) and one grain of total sulfur (1 gr S/100 SCF) are common contract limits. To ensure that both buyer and seller are dealing with gas within these limits, it is common to monitor both parameters, as well as others, on both sides of custody transfer points.
