Abstract: The timely analysis of measurement data is a critical process throughout the energy sector value chain. Most organizations are closing the prior months measurement data on the 3 to 10 working day of the next month, e.g. February 2020 was closed on March 4 th - 13th . Initially some companies use that reference point as the driver to analyze and resolve all measurement data issues. However, there are many organizations that strive to resolve all measurement anomalies daily. The driver for a daily measurement processes are generally driven by the measurement group with feedback form a combination of the upstream and downstream groups within the organization. These groups include marketing-based systems including the nominations and allocations groups, field operations teams including gas control plus the accounting group(s), Today the measurement system provides the critical layer of measurement data integrity required to meet the timely overall measurement accuracy for an organization due to its direct impact on the bottom line. The integrity of measurement data begins at the primary device in the field and continues through to the validation of all data received and processed by the measurement group.
