Abstract: Meter proving is a process used to obtain a meter factor. The purpose of a meter factor is to correct a meters indicated volume to a number, which more closely represents the true volume that passed through the meter. A meter factor is essential to calculating the net standard volume which is the basis for all pipeline liquid custody transfers.
