Title: The Significance Of Bias Errors In Measurement
Author: William Clingman, Kenneth R. Marsh

Abstract: The contribution of random error and bias to the overall accuracy of a measurement is discussed with particular reference to the determination of heating values of natural gases from composition determinations and direct measurement. The accuracy achievable from composition calculation depends on the quality of the reference standard and how closely the composition of the standard matches that of the unknown.
