Title: The Use Of Flow Conditioners To Improve Flow Measurement Accuracy Downstream Of Headers

Abstract: With the support of the Header Research Consortium the flow profiles and shifts in orifice-plate discharge coefficients have been measured downstream of headers in short meter tubes which include flow conditioners. The effectiveness of recent designs of perforated plate as flow conditioners has been shown, in that they will make shorter installations possible. In addition, CFD computations have been performed to help interpret the experimental data.
