Abstract: Determining BTU content of natural gas with a portable chromatograph is essentially the same as wiUi an on-line chromatogiaph. The difference is simply the convenience of a portable unit which can be easily carried to any desired site. Typical uses of portable units include wellhead analysis, field/operations optimization, emergency substitution for malftmctioning online units, and any other situation where very rapid measurement of gas BTU content is required at a site not served by some other BTU metering capability.
