Abstract: To engineering, distribution and other operating personnel, pressure usually means pounds per square inch gauge (psig) as opposed to inches of water column (w.c) reduced pipe sizes and reduced installation costs. To them, pressure also means capacity to expand beyond present geographic limits with minimal investment. With adequate gas supply, pressure allows them flexibility to respond to demand during peak and off-peak periods. Clearly, pressure is key.
