Abstract: Pipelines operated today are multi-dimensional pipelines systems providing multiple services for its many shippers and customers. Pipeline systems may connect multiple origins and destinations, carry various products across long distances with changing profiles, dimensions and directions. Pipelines operated today are complex systems operating on a fine line between profit and compliance. Monitoring pipeline gains and losses employ tools and analysis methods developed specifically to trouble shoot pipeline variances. Examination of pipeline gains and losses require basic statistical analysis as well as intuitive and creative insight into wlial controls gains and losses.
