Abstract: There are many books, standards and detailed articles covering the topic of Good Engineering Practice and yet, one of the main issues for all flow-meter manufacturers is the adverse impact of poor site installation practice. This paper is not intended as a scientific document, rather an observation born from years of experience in resolving these very site related issues. The cost to industry, in both time and money, with the potential for loss of confidence in any given technology and manufacturer, is very real and significant. All flow meter manufacturers have experience of this, and often all for a few dollars of straight pipework.
