Abstract: This is not my first time to talk on the subject of safe practices in gas measurement. As a matter of fact, I presented a similar talk last year at a morning session of this school. I enjoyed it immensely but, a few days later, I ran into a friend of mine who said he had heard about my talk and was sorry that he was unable to be present to hear it. In polite response, I assured him that he had not missed anything, whereupon he staggered me by saying thats what everybody says
