Abstract: The degree to which a gas meter is doing its job, in percent, is called Proof. Percent Proof can be found by delivering a known volume of air to the inlet of a meter at a constant flaw rate. Mathematically, then, divide that volume by the volume that the meter dial indicates (and then multiply it by a hundred, to get Percent). The equation looks like this:
