Abstract: Control and Instrumentation testing at both the component and system level is performed during nuclear power plant construction preoperational and startup phases. Preoperational testing is the most extensive in both detail and applied effort. Specifications and instructions for Boiling Water Reactor nuclear steam supply system tests are prepared by the reactor vendor from plant design information and technical specifications using Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards as general guide lines. Actual test procedures are the responsibility of the utility and are usually cookbook versions of the vendors instructions.
