Abstract: The term moisture refers to the water content of any material-solid, liquid or gas. However, in most industries, it is customary to refer to moisture as the water content of solids or liquids, reserving the term humidity for the water content of gases. The natural gas industry refers to humidity as water vapor. This discussion of the principles of moisture analysis will cover basic concepts, definitions and units followed by a description of the commonly used instrumental methods including their strengths and weaknesses.
