Abstract: Upstream pipe configurations can produce large flow disturbances that significantly affect the accuracy of orifice flowmeters. The effectiveness of a tube bundle flow conditioner to restore the measurement accuracy is shown. The location of the tube bundle relative to the orifice plate for these installations will be discussed. Recommendations for future research needs and for improving the installation specifications for flow measurement standards are suggested.
